Proposal for Sunbird to support iMIP for calendar storage
I saw a few discussions on using IMAP for calendar storage but I'm not sure if this is the direction that is being taken or not. I think that it would be great if storage of calendar entries can be done on an IMAP folder. Communigate Pro seems to do this internally, storing in the iMIP format. Essentially each calendar entry is a mail message in a folder. They implement a MAPI connector for Outlook that works over IMAP to access the calendar. Using Windows XP Pro, I do not see Sunbord or Calendar in the list for Default Applications. When I go to Internet Properties, click Programs, Select down arror next to calendar Outlook is my only option. Sunbird cannot see multiple calendars under shared calendar group
This may be specific to Apple's iCal so if it is a known problem perhaps someone can enlighten me. We switched from Now Up to Date to iCal. iCal works really well now that we upgraded from a Mac Mini to an Xserve. ;) Everyone is subscribed to a group calendar on the server. While iCal clients can connect to the server and see ALL of the calendars under a paticular group. I just noticed that Sunbird users can only see the FIRST calendar under that group, but apparently no others. I just added a new calendar this morning to the group and switched a couple of events over ..
